Ladyhill Victoria High School Urwa, Mangalore - 6 celebrated Diwali – the festival of lights on November 6th 2021. The venue of the programme was the school hall. The stage was decorated with diyas and the backdrop with the slogan “Let's burn our ego more than the crackers”.
The programme began at 9a.m. with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer service to invoke the blessings of god. The main Diwali diya was lighted by the chief guest of the programme Sr. Pushpa and other teachers. Students were also given an opportunity to light the other diyas on the stage. After welcoming the audience the mythological importance of diwali was highlighted through a conversation and students through a small act depicted the activities undertaken during the 5 days of diwali celebration. The classical dancers entertained the audience by a graceful dance. The chief guest Sr. Pushpa wished all the students and their families a happy and safe Diwali. The programme ended with a melodious diwali wishing song and a vote of thanks.
On the occasion of Diwali, a ‘gududeepa making’ competition was organised for the high school students on 8th November. The students exhibited the gududeepa’s prepared by them during the general assembly. Students actively participated in this competition. Some eco-friendly gududeepa’s captured the attention of all.
