‘Sing... the world needs your music in it’.
Janapada tradition represents Kannadiga desire to communicate his/her experiences of joy and sorrow and share it with others. Karnataka Janapada tradition finds expression not in the form of writing but also in the form of writing but in the form of spoken word or song which is transmitted and perpetuated by oral tradition. In this view Ladyhill Victoria Girls’ Composite PU College organised Janapada geethe singing competition on 20.09.2024 in the PUC conference hall at 10:40AM.

The event commenced with a soulful prayer song sung by the students of II PUC. A total of 11 participants actively participated in this competition. Time limit for the event was 2+1 minutes. Students were asked to sing Kannada folk songs only. K Panchami Shenoy and Shiboni Ruhi Salins were the time keepers. Nafiya H, I PUC science delivered the vote of thanks. K Lakshmi Bai, II PUC science compered the event. Mrs. Reema Marina Ornello, Lecturer in Chemistry was the staff incharge for the event.
