On the occasion of National science day 2022, Karnataka state council for science and technology (KSCST) had organized “science for children” competition in Dakshina Kannada district through online mode. Two students participated in this competition from Ladyhill Victoria High School, Mangaluru. The two students are Simone Dsouza of class 9 and Sharanya Shetty of Class 8. There were two levels in this competition: the first level was district level and the second was state level. The theme of the competition was ‘Appropriate technology for sustainable living’. The district level was held on 29th January 2022. Both Simone and Sharanya got selected for the next level and also received a prize money of RS 500 by the C.E.O of Zilla Panchayath Dr.Kumara (I.A.S). The second level was organized through Google meet (online mode). The state level (second) competition was held on 17th February 2022 between 10.00 am to 12.00noon and awaiting for the results.
